You have to add initial dichlor before you use the N2 cart and then maintain it with MPS or dichlor. I've been using 2 tsp of dichlor after each use but that gets the ... I've been able to determine that copper is really only good for algae and not bacteria or viruses. For a mineral system to be effective at all against bacteria and viruses it needs silver. I see lots of references to silver in the discussions about Nature 2.
