If so this won't work as there is only one effective port, i.e. LAN1, out of the modem, unless you use "Ethernet port aggregation" and this is where you connect both LAN ports i.e. LAN 1 & LAN 2 to either the PC or the router. Moving the router would cause all of the other ethernet jacks to have no internet access. If you are OK with only one ethernet jack working, then yes you can plug the wire going to it directly into the modem.
